LIMITATIONS

Small sample sizes mean that insights derived cannot be seen as reflective of all small businesses, startups or structured organizations. 

 

My background is in graphic design, property management and teaching. While I have familiarized myself with a wealth of literature and learned from experts in the fields of cognitive psychology and organizational behavior, I present this material with the recognition that I have only touched the surface. 

 

Employing action research in a phenomenological inquiry was particularly well suited to a project looking at experiential learning as they share a similar learning process. However, a practice open to developments within experience which allows for changes in direction, makes for a somewhat circuitous journey. 

 

Securing a company willing to participate as a case study is always challenging, but Covid-19 created a significant limitation by further impeding the possibility of actually working within the walls of an organization, making this IRP more of an individual research project accomplished with, as opposed to within industry.
